Guru Mauli Bahuuddeshiy Sanstha ("we", "us", "our") operates the Navya English Medium School mobile application and website (https://navyaenglishschool.com) for enrolled students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you use our services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy.

We collect the following categories of information to provide school management and learning services:

• Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, gender, photograph
• Family & guardian details: parent/guardian names, contact numbers, email addresses, occupation, Aadhaar numbers (when provided)
• Student records: admission class (Playgroup, Nursery, JR KG, and SR KG), academic year, roll number, attendance, exam results, homework submissions, learning progress
• Health & safety: blood group, allergies, medical conditions, emergency contact details (when provided)
• Documents: birth certificate, Aadhaar card, transfer certificate, progress reports, and other uploaded files
• Financial: fee structure, payment history, and receipt records
• Account credentials: email and encrypted password (stored as a secure hash — we never store plain-text passwords)
• App activity: learning game scores, phonics practice results, and feature usage within the LMS
• Device permissions: camera, photo library, microphone, and file access — only when you use features that require them

We use personal information only for legitimate school-related purposes:

• Creating and managing user accounts for students, parents, teachers, and administrators
• Processing admissions, registrations, attendance, fees, exams, and school communications
• Delivering learning content, homework, announcements, and educational activities
• Enabling document uploads, leave applications, and transfer certificate requests
• Sending service-related emails such as registration confirmations, fee receipts, and announcements
• Maintaining security, preventing fraud, and troubleshooting technical issues
• Complying with applicable laws and regulatory requirements for educational institutions in India

Our app serves enrolled school students, including young children in Playgroup, Nursery, JR KG, and SR KG. Student accounts are created by parents/guardians or school administrators.

We collect children's information solely for educational and administrative purposes. We do not sell children's data, show personalized advertising to children, or use children's data for marketing.

Microphone access is used only for phonics and speech-learning activities initiated by the user. Camera and photo access are used only for registration photos, homework attachments, and school gallery uploads.

Parents/guardians may review, update, or request deletion of their child's account data by contacting us or using the in-app account deletion feature.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Cloud storage providers (Microsoft Azure) to securely store uploaded documents and images
• Email delivery services to send registration confirmations, receipts, and school notifications
• Authorized school staff (teachers and administrators) who need access to perform their duties
• Legal authorities when required by applicable law, court order, or government request

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Authentication tokens on mobile devices are stored using secure native storage (Expo SecureStore).

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage. Access to administrative functions is restricted by role-based authentication.

While we implement reasonable safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your login credentials confidential.

We retain personal information for as long as the student or staff member is enrolled or employed, and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by school records policy and applicable law.

Fee payment records and statutory school records may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form even after account deletion, where retention is legally required.

When you delete your account, we remove login access and anonymize or delete personal identifiers as described in our account deletion process.

You have the right to:

• Access and review the personal information associated with your account
• Correct inaccurate information through your profile or by contacting the school office
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing by contacting us
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction

The mobile app may request the following device permissions:

• Camera — registration photos and gallery uploads by staff
• Photo library — selecting images for registration and document uploads
• Microphone — AI Phonics Coach and speech practice learning activities
• Files & storage — attaching documents to homework, leave applications, and admin exports
• Internet — required for all app functionality

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our website and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
